Warriors Don't Understand the Durant Dynamic in OKC

KJ News - The Golden State Warriors organization was furious and bewildered by the treatment Kevin Durant received from the Oklahoma City Thunder organization and its fans in his return to Oklahoma in February, according to an ESPN report.

Durant made his debut at Chesapeake Energy Arena as a member of the Warriors on Feb. 11, and was booed and called "cupcake" and "soft" throughout the game.

Durant's mother, Wanda, was also upset with the treatment, and said people approached her to mock her son.

The Warriors' felt Durant should have been acknowledged for his nine years with the team, and that the silence from the organization led to the hostile environment in the arena.

What do we think about this one?

On one hand, the fans in Oklahoma City have done their absolute best to make any return in a game-playing capacity for Kevin Durant a living nightmare, which is commendable from a past franchise. The Warriors also come across as salty and complaining yet again about something petty and stupid.

If you look at it from the other perspective, the OKC fans showed no respect to a man who built up their franchise and gave a lot back to the city all over a free agency choice 9 years after his draft day. The Warriors just have their teammates back.
