After his first year of playing, Jaden McKenzie gave up football. "It was too much running, I was fat, I didn’t want to be out there," he told The News & Observer of his seventh-grade season. But when he got to high school, coaches pointed out he could use his size to his advantage. He did that so well that his senior season, he racked up 77 tackles and 10.5 sacks. For a long time, he seemed likely to end up at North Carolina, but Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson kept pushing for him, and now he's going to be a Buckeye.
